My First Draft of a Newspaper Advertisement for Our Documentary, 'Education Treadmill'

I chose to be as simple as possible so i present the main idea clearly and not go over board with different images. Using a crosspost seemed perfectly appropriate as it conveys the idea of a person orientating themselves about which way to go. I emphasised the main topics on both sides so the audience can sense what the documentary will include. The title of the documentary needed to be the main focus so I included it with big bold letters and in addition to support the title I included a subtitle "Is university the right pathway for everyone" which should make the audience think of the answer to this question as our documentary is all about the answer to that question. This is a starting point as I plan to develop it a bit more by taking an actual picture of a crosspost.

My Role as a Camera Operator

Everything that contributes to the composition of the shot such as framing, size of shot, camera angles, focus and lighting will be my responsibility. For achieving successful footage that looks technically correct and for visually conveying the creative ideas behind the shots I will be closely collaborating with the director. But most importantly this role gives me the ability to influence the meaning of a shot and the way the audience will interpret it so that it matches the theme of our documentary and in order to do that I will be exploring all the different shots and various angles. Last but definitely not least, I will be making sure that before getting to our filming location we have all the equipments that we need and that they are working well.
